One of the bars of iron became displaced and struck Mr Lowes on th* leg inflicting a severe bruise, and then broke the window of the carriage. During the eight years Mr Arthur Forster hag acted as Assistant Clerk Here he has made hosts of friends by bi* invariable courtesy, attention to duty, and willingness to oblige and assist all who hud official business with him. He is also thoroughly well versed iv the technical work. Ills many friends,' while rejoicing at his substantial promotion, will also deeply regret his departure from Wellington. He retires from th* office here on S-turday next, and leaves for Napior early next week. Prior to his appointment to the Court here, he was for three or four year* Clerk to the Court at Palmerston North, and. fur ten yearn previous to that he held a commission as Suh- Inspector in the Defence Force.
