' These' transaction o became very fre■quent, and loug before the racecourse wasjn view the end of the whisky had teen reached, aud the t^fe partners in | the business were lying in a ditch. ! The jar was beside them, with only the perfume of the ""whisky about it, aud all they had . to show for tlif r business transaction was twopence which remained firmly clutched in the j hand of Barney. ; The little flaw in ■ their business system was not dis- ; covered until they were both before the magistrate,' and were asked to pay a ten shilling fine or go to prison for seven days. ■ ■ i
