Dunedin, February 19 There is a good attendance, and the racecourse is in capital order. The total put through the machine for the day was .£13,339, or .£lßll more than last year and £300 more than the Exhibition Cup day. Hurdles. —Waitangi, 1; Mammoc, 2; Torrent, 3. Won easily. Dividends, £20 15s and £15 4s 6d. Champagne Stakes. —Thackeray, 1 ; Freedom, 2; To-wnmoor, 3. Pygmalion was the other starter, but was never in it, Thackbray winning easily. Dunedin Cup, of 600 soys; 2 miles and a distance. —Hon. G. McLean's St. James, 7st 121 b (White), 1; Occident, 9st 51b, 2 ; Ixion, 6st 121 b, 3. Don C»sar, 6st 7lb, also started. Ixion took up the running from the start, with St. James in attendance, and continued it till entering the straight, when all the placed horses were even. Then ensued a magnificent race, St. James getting home by the shortest of heads, Ixion a good third. Time, 2min. 57Jsec. Dividend, £2 19s. Publicans' Handicap, of 200 soys; 7 furlongs. —Merrie England, *7st 121 b, 1 ; Blizzard, 6st 91b, 2; Apres Moi, 6st 121 b, 3. Won by half a length. Time, lmin. 31+ sec. Dividend, £2 ls. Lady Bell won the Maiden Plate, with Golden Hope 2nd, Helmsman 3rd; Lady Florin appropriated the Stewards' Purse, Larose 2nd, and Bed Cross 3rd; the Two-year-old Selling Race fell to Moth, Watercress being 2nd and Lady Mab 3rd.
