Supposed Railway Accident.
(PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.) Wellington, February 19. A report has reached town that when the tram from Wellington to Masterton was nearing the Waingawa Bridge to-day Mrs Elley, with a child in her arms, fell or jumped from the train. She is tbe wife of Mr John Elley, butcher, of Mas- A terton. No further particulars have been ' received, but the police from Masterton j accompanied by a doctor, have gone down . I the line. This. Mrs Elley, who was reported to bay» ' jumped from the train yesterday, byes 'opC 1 ' posite to where she jumped off, 'and as the train always slows down- on crossing the •■- --bridge over the Wingawa, she thought • she would risk it to save a long walk.
