Bedmond,- O'Connor, Condon, anbi O'Kelly conspired to bring about the" absolute separation in Ireland.- The fac" simile of the letter is declared to be a forgery. The defendants * since denouncing ihe Phoenix Park murders, were 1 proved to have incited to intimidation^ and invited the assistance of Mr Ford in America. Mr Parnell is acquitted of hay--ing assisted Byrne to escape to Paris, an $ the judges find that it is not true that her was intimate with the leading In vincibles.DavitHs shown to have been closely associated with party of violence in America. It was not proved that the defendants were aware that the Clan-na-Gael Society con< trolled the American League, or collected money for the Parliamentary Fund. It? was proved that in order to obtain the assistance of physical force, the party iff America, including the Clan-na-Gael^ which was actually engaged in dynamite 1 operations in England, the defendants ab- . stained' from condemning the actions of that party. It was proved that Davitt arranged an alliance between the Parnell-' ites, American Home Bulers, and a party of violence in America, and. that the skirmishing fund was used to promote the agitation which resulted in the formation of the league. It was proved that 44 Irish members, including Dillort, Parnellj Deasy, Dayitt and Eedmond, and other" leading members who supported bbycot* ting, were guilty of criminal -conspiracy > against the landlords. The defendants had either direct or indirect knowledge of the Phoenix jPark murders. Pigott was • utterly unworthy of credit. No details ; were given of the way in which ■ of the League's funds were expended* The Commission did not receive the as* sistance that was expected from either Parnell or the League.
