JUBILEE DAT AT WELLINGTON.

(PER "TOOTED PBESS ASSOCIATION.) Wellington, January 22. A cloudless sky and a gentle breez€ favored the Wellington Jubilee Day. The principal feature of the celebration was a procession headed by some thousands oi school children, who formed a line, foui deep, nearly a mile in length. The procession in all was two miles in length, Lorries containing members'of the different t.ades were in the procession, as alsc were the Friendly Societies and old identities. On arriving at the Basin Eeservt the Mayor presented a loyal address, hav> ing reference to the Jubilee, to Hi's Excellency the Governor, who was accompanied by Lord Carrington !and Admira Bcott and suites. The children sang thi National Anthem and the Jubilee Hymr composed by Mr Bridge. Theremaindei * of the day was deyoted in amusing th< children with sports, may-pole dances, &c. Many thousands of people were pre sent — in fact, it was considered»to be th( largest crowd ever assembled in the city The regatta was favored with exemplar) weather, with just sufficient breeze ,t( send the boats along. Swimming races were also held. The shipping in tht harbor was gaily decorated. The day'! festivities wound up. with a torchlighi procession, and shortly after 8 o'clocl the streets were linod with thousands o: people, and every point from which s view could be had was crowded.
