Education Board

The Bunnythorpe correspondent of the Manawatu Times states that Mr Slipper, who resides there, has been nominated for the vacant seat on the Wanganui Education Board. We hope this candidate will be elected because from his wide experience as a teacher, as well as a settler, with his thorough knowledge of the school requirements of country districts .we feel assured he would make a most valuable addition to the Board to which, it must be admitted, an infusion of new blood is now absolutely necessary. Of course it. may be objected that Mr Slipper would merely be a delegate from the Manawatu end of this education district, but we know that that objection would be quite groundless, and that Mr Slipper would be as independent as any other gentleman on the Board.
