Members of the Manchester Rifles are reminded of the parade to-morrow night.Every man must be present as there is a lot of important business to-be done. The following is an extract from a'cir- • cular issued from the Defence Office, dated 31st December, 1889 : — " For the year 1890, and until further orders the sum, which may be voted by Parliament for Prize Firing will be distributed pro rata according to the strength of the Volunteer force in districts; and the Officer Commanding the district, in conjunction with Officers Commanding Corps, will form a a committee, which will determine whether the sum alcove I is to be distributed to corps, or fired for as general District prizes. It is further notified that prizes are to-be decided in foture by the best score made at volley firing only, and that the Regulations will be amended so as to .-' give legal effect to this alteration." - . • .
