Wellington, January 3. George Thomas and Co. report produce price as follows : —The holidays have greatly interferred with ordinary business in graiu, and there are practically no alterations to note in any line; the market demands are characterised by extreme dulness. Oats hardly maintain late rate 9, although no alteration has taken place ; good milling are worth 2/3 ; feeding sorts from 2/- to 2/2£; oatmeal* £12 ; oatea straw chaff, £2 15/- ; sheaf, £4 to £5 ; roller, flour, £9 5/- ; stone do, £8 5/-; wheatmeal, £8 5/-; fo.vls wheat, 2/6 to 3/2, according to quality} bran, £3 5/-; pollard, £3 10/-; maize 3/6 ; beans, 3/9 ; peas, 4/-; feed barley, 3/-; hams and bacon, factory, 7|d; farmers, cure 4d to 5d ; cheese, 4d to 5d ; fresh butter, 7d ; salt do, 6d ; eggs, dull, at 8d ; honey, 4£d ; pearl barley, £19 ; split peas, £15 ; geruiea, 25/- per case. The inquiry for fruit has greatly fallen since the holidays, and prices show reductions in some instances of over 100 per cent, the diminution in values princi • pally affecting plums, currants, cherries, tomatoes and cucumbers. Poultry is now very dull, fowls realising 2/3 ro 2/6 with difficulty ; ducks, 3/G ; geese, 5/6 ; turkeys, 7/- per pair. The New Zealand Loan and Mer cantile Agency Company (Limited) have received the following canle mes sage from their Londou office, dated the 3rd January: —Tallow —There is a good demand. Good mutton is .£27 10s p&r ton and good beef is worth £25 10s per ton. Frozen meat —Mutton market is steady. Canterbury ist worth 4.Jd per lb, and Wei liugton is wortJi 4}d per lb. Beef — Markut is dull Foroquarters are worth 3£d per ib, hindquarters are vorth 4|d per lb. •
