Feilding Sports and Races
The Feilding Boxing Day Sports are now an established institution of colonial reputation, distinguished by liberal prizes and good management. The events for Thursday next should proye more than usually interesting, owing to the large number of entries. These, with the excellent arrangements made by the Committee for the accommodation of visitors, ought to prove very attractive ; therefore we will not be surprised if we have to chronicle that the Sports for 1889 were fthe best on record. On the following day The Hack Race Meeting of the Feilding Jockey Club will be held. As a remarkably good bill of fare has been provided for owners of horses, we confidently predict that the acceptances will be numerous, and, as a natural consequence, the attendance of the public will be proportionately large. All that will bo needed is hue weather, and of that we are assured. On both days the Feilding Brass Band will be in attendance, and their very excellent playing will go far to make tho time pass pleasantly.
