« The usual, monthly meeting of the Land Board was held on Thursday last. Present — Messrs J. W.. A. Marchant (Commissioner,) in, the chair, D. H. Macarthur, M.H.JR. and H. Bunny. The schedule of land sold showed that] 7021 a3r 27p had been disposed of siuce last meeting at an. upset price of .£1 1,279 17s lOd. The Ranger also presented a re_port with regard to the Pemberton - Special Settlement Block, from which it appeared that out 0f:66 selectors 17 had not complied with the Act The area required to be improved was 9699 acres at a cost of £1759, the area actually improved being 1340 acres, at a cost of £3300, the area improved in excess of requirements being 641 acres, at a of £1541. The Hanger also forA warded. his report" on 53 selectors in the .Sanson Special •• ettleraent Block, from which it appeared that only 10 selectorshad complied with the Act, and 31 had partly done so. The area required to be improved was 554 acres at a cost of £1333,' and the area actually improved was 265 acres at a cost of £562, the deficiency being 289 acres. The Ranger, also reported that out of 60 t selectors in the Awahou Pobangip'a Special Settlement Block, only 36 had complied "with -the Act, although 23 of thp?e had partly done so.- The area required to be improved was 635 acres at a cost of £1944 ; the area improved in excess' of requirement being 267 aores at a cost £376. The Board decided to call upon those selectors in arrear in each case to show cause why their i iterest should not le - caH celled. : The Kiwitea' Road Board forvrarde'd amended- plan and proposals for, expendiug accrued thirds from sections in their , districts.
