THE EXILES OF SIBERIA.
PUNISHMENT BY RUSSIAN AUTHORITIES. . Received December 19, 12.40 p.m. St Pbtf.ksbueg, December 17. It being alleged that a number of exiles in the Siberian mines had been, guilty of disobedience, |their conduct was reported to the authorities, who sent guards to Irkutsk, where six of the- offenders were •brutally killed, while nine others were wounded. Subsequently three others were hanged. New York, December 17. Owing to the number of fires which recently occurred .in the States from accidents by electric lighting, a difficulty has risen between the police and the lighting companies and this has now culminated in open dispute. The police having gained the day are now engaged in removing all over head wires. London, December 18.
