Four miners named Whithead, By an, King, and White were ascending a shaft in the South Burwood mine this evening when the cage being overdrawn, struck the poppetheads. The concussion caused the rope to break, and the men were preoipated to the bottom of- the shaft, a distance of four hundred and fifty feet, andwere emashed to pieces. • . ,
