Onepuhi Bridge and Cheltenham Cross Road Commissions

The enquiry hito the control and maintenance of the Onepuhi bridge, adjourned from Friday, the loth instant, was held at the Court House, Feilding, yesterday, bsfore Mr Brabant, K.M., the Commissioner.

Mr' Hankins appeared as solicitor for ihe Manchester Road Board, and Mr San- ■ (ilands as solicitor for the Kiwitea Road Board.

Mr Purkiss, Clerk of the Halcombe "own Board, appeared as the representaive of that body.

A large number of witnesses were examined for the Manchester Boad Board. md Mr Purkiss also gave evidence on behalf of the Halconibe Town Board. No other local body called witnesses, and the case closed at 4.30 p.m.

The enquiry into the control and maintenance of Cheltenham Cross Boad was then opened.

Mr Hankins appeared for the Man Chester, and Mr Sandilands for the Kiwi' tea Boad Board.

Mr Hankins applied for an adjournment in order to allow him an opportunity oi preparing his case and securing the attendance of witnesses.

Mr Sandilandß applied in that case for She paj'meht of the expenses of the six witnesses he had brought forward.

Adjournment was made till Friday, December 6th, at the B.M. Court, Feilding. at 10 o'clock in the forenoon.

It is probable that an extension of the ■Commission re the Onepuhi Bridge will be made in order to carry out the suggestions of Mr Hankins, solicitor for the Manchester Eoad Board, that the Commissioner visit fche site of the bridge and the districts concerned.
