The Irish Delegates
(per pbess association.) Auck:i.aj> t jd, .November 6 The Irish delegates held, a public meeting to-night at the City Hall. There was a crowded audience, and the proceedings wore very enthusiastic. Addresses were given by Messrs Dillon, Deasy, and Sir T. Esmonde. In regard? .to the Irish question of Home Rule .t wasnot religions, and claimed for the Irish people the right to govern themselves, instead of being forced to accept a Government which was obnoxious to the majority of them Y He pointed out that the same laws could not be made to apply to England and Ireland, and scouted the idea that Home Rule meant separation. Sir George Grey also delivered an address: A motion of sympathy with the Home Hule cause was agreed to. Over ' £600 have now been subscribed to the Evicted Tenants' Fund. Wellington, November 6. The Irish envoys on their arrival in Wellington will be accorded a public reception, but tiiere will be 110 procession, or unnecessary display of banners, bannerettes, &c. .Tlie Reception Committee will present an address.
