We have a suggestion to make to the Board of Railway ; Commissioners, and one which we think should be acted upon, viz., the issuing of railway tickets to accredited pressmen over the New Zealand railways at reduced rates. Newspaper men do a lot of travelling about in pursuit oftheir vocation at a great cost, and as the result of their labors is for the public good, - we do not see why some concession should not be made. We are led to ; make this suggestion owing to a private letter received by a member of our staff from a Brisbane journalist, who says that the Queensland Railway Commissioners, upon representations being made to tbem, at once arranged for the issuing of season tickets to members of the fourth estate at one-fourth the ordinary ticket rates. We hope — and we know our contemporaries will agree with us in this matter — that the Bailway Commissioners at Wellington will give consideration to our recommendation. — Napier News.
