' Sir Henry Parkes, in a despatch to Mr Thomas Gillies, Premier of Victoria, says he believes the time is ripe to consolidate the Australias, and H"ew Wales" invites the other colonies to the fir&t great step— viz., to hold a National Convention for the" purpose of Uevising aud reporting on some adequate scheme of Fedora'^Government. In order to avoid a sense of inequality ue~ prop ees that tne f number of delegates from each Oniony should be the .same, aud equally chosen from both sides of political life. Such delegates to he elected by Parliament and commissioned by the Governor iii Council.
