The damage is estimated at £20,000, and 'the insurance is only £10,000. By the destruction of the factory 190 hands haye been throwu out of employment. \; a During a thunderstorm at Inverell, in the northern district, a. man named Luck and his wife were killed by lightning. Mklbocbnk, October 21. The man McCarron, who was arrested with his daughter on a charge of murdering the latter's illegitimate child 'under peculiarly atrocious circumstances, has been sentenced to 10 years' for manslaughter, and the daughter to 12 months. A man named- Macfarlane was found dead in a water hole, where he had evidently been thrown after being murdered. There, is no- clue at present. Pfkth,: October Sil. A man named Press has been sentenced to death for killing his mate at Hall's creek and burning his body. ■."....
