Melbourne, October 17

There was a great run on Moorebank for the Caulfield Cup last night, 100 to 30 being taken. In consequence of this, Brayo has gone back a point in public f&vor. Manton is still well backed down to 100 to 10. Chicago has been knocked out in the betting for the Caulfield Cup, but is being backed for the Melbourne Cup at 100 to 6. Antteus has advanced for the Melbourne Cup to 100 to 10.

The following tips for the Caulfield Cup are given : — " Augur " fancies Bravo or The Charmer to win, with : Wycombe, Meteor, or Don Giovan to fill places. " Asrnodeus " goes for The Charmer, Lonsdale, Chaldean, or Dunkeld. " Vigilant " places them — Manton, Pakeha, Bravo.- . ■

" Sir Launcelot," in the Eeferee, tips as follows for the Caulfield Cup, to be run to-day : — Charmer, 1; Bravo or Oakleigh, 2; Chicago, 3. „ " Gipsy 'King," in the Herald, writes re the Caulfield Cup : — Mariton, Moorebank, and Bravo appear to be most fancied. My fancy for this race is Pakeha, Chicago and Green Isle, in that order, although Manton if well will prove he is a racehorse.
