Appointments in Committee. — From the Makino Boad Committee, re removal of teacher ; resolved that the teacher's attention be drawn to the unsatisfactorystate of the inspector's report. Sckoiarships. — Mr McCarthy wrote: the Board asking that his. son mig'it hold, his scholarship at St. Patrick's College, Wellington, and it was resolved to reply that the Board could not comply with the request, as it would be an infringement of the Education Act. Another applica- • tion from Mr MeGovern, to allow his daughter to complete her scholarship' afc' the Convent School, Wanganui, was similarly dealt with. New Schools, &c— lt was resolved ' that a committee, consisting of Messrs ". Sanson, Baker, Fry, and Bridge; should "-' be appointed to endeavor to arrange with the architect for model plans for schools ."' to accommodate 40, 60, or 80 children, for.: residence, and closets, with a view to reduce the cost. Building Grant.— The Board decided to write to the Colonial Treasurer asking ' what amount the Board would receive out of the building grant. Financial. — The general account showed a credit of L 5952 13s 7d, and the - building account was overdrawn' L 1637' 16s lid, with.liabilities of L 1950. Advertising. — Mr -Hamerton, of the Patea County Press, -wrote re an alleged . overcharge.
