In Manilla hemp business has-been reported at £43 per ton c. i. f.'for " fair current," but latterly the market has given way, and closes weaker at a decline of about £l per ton, on this price, while on the spot " current" is quoted at £47 10/- per ton. A somewhat better enquiry has prevailed for tow, 'and about '400 bales have changed hands at .from £5 15/- and £7 ton. .
