The football match between Auckland and Wellington was played at the- latter place on Saturday, and after a stubbornly contested game, resulted in a win for "Wellington by one goal to a try. The match between Taranaki and Wanganui came oft at Wanganui on Saturday last, the local men winning by 9 points to 4. Wanganui kicked two goals from free kicks, the other goal beinj? got from a try, while Taranaki scored two tries, one of which was converted into a goal. Turakina beat Gordon (Wanganui) on Saturday by 1 point to nil. Tliis leaves Turakina and Marton to play a final match in Wanganui for the junior cup given by the Wanganui Rugby Union. The following team will represent the Wanganui Football Club in their match with Feilding next Saturday : — D. Blair, full-back; Mason, McLean and Peake, three-quarters ; Leys, Bullock and Woon, halves ; O. Fitzgerald, Grogan, Blair, McDonald, Skeet, Fookes, D. Mason and Gray, forwards. — Chronicle. The team to represent Feilding against Wanganui on Saturday next will be picked from the following players: — Robinson, Parr, Dyer, Thomson, Strachan, Harmer, Gregory, R. and J. Whisker, Iveson, Bray, Hodges, Keightly, Belfit, Laing, Saywell, Collins. The team chosen will be published on Thursday.
