The Fielding Star. TUESDAY, SEP T. 17, 1889. The Horticultural Society

TirE annual meeting of the Feilding Horticultural. -Society will he- held in' the Manchester Road Board office on Friday night, when all interested are invited tp : atteiid. Although the Society is now established on a firm and permanent bagis, yet the 'presence -of well wisher's who have recently settled in the towu and district, as well as the older residents, can only add strength to the institution. If we may form any opinion from the splendid weather we have experienced so far as the season has gone, the Spring show this year ought to be one of the best yet held by the Society. It is an incontestable fact that notwithstanding the eaormous difficulties aud obs'acle-i the Society has had to meet add overcome since its inception, their shows have been invariably the best on this coast. But that is all the greater reason why people should take a lively interest in the business proceedings of the Society. It is not difficult to get a good reputation; the thing is to keep i f . That can only be done by hearty co-operation on the part of every one interested in the prosperity of the place either directly or mdi rectly. '
