Blenheim, September 12, In the estate of Thomas Horton (Pell Bros and Co.), merchant, the unsecured creditors amount to £48 16s Bd, and secured creditors to £7409 18s 4d, total debts, £7458 15s, and assets. £9569 la Id, leaving an apparent surplus of £2110 6b Id. The secured creditors are Samuel Senior, settler, Nelson, who holds a security to the estimated yalue of £1200 for a debt of £600, and the Bank of New Zealand at Blenhiem, who hold a security of the value of £1920 for a debt of £6809 18s 4d. DtTNBDiN, September 12 At a meeting of the Exhibition Commissioners, the President reported that he believed everything would be in order by the opening day. New South Wales has already commenced fitting up her court, a large number of exhibits having already arrived. Victoria would commence fitting up in a few days. Auckland, September 12 A girl named Barbara Waish, 11 years of age, has been accidently drowued in the ilangicangi R-.vor, nuar Mercer. Gisbornk, September 13. A north-wester blew here with some force at 5 o'clock on Tuesday morning. A native named Ruka Aratapu left 3isbourne in a small keel boat 12ft long for a fishing ground in the bay. The gale came on suddenly, and he was blown out to sea. On Wednesday morning it broke, and found him out of sight of land. He hoisted the sail, aud steered for the direction he thought the land to be, and by the constant use of the sculls he again reached the coast at 8 a.m. yesterday, aftor being two days and nights on ihe water, and escaping many perils. Christchubch, September 13 Mr R H. Cotton, son of the manager of the Unior Bank at Lyttlcton, died of typhoid fever, contracted in one of the bays.
