(per united press association.) Auckland, August 16. A young man named William E. Bannister, a clerk in the Post Office, was charged at the Police Court to-day with issuing a money order for £10 with fraudulent intend at Wellington on the 2nd August, *ieß7. The case was re manded till Monday. Under the recent decision of the United States Treasury, New Zealand flax will henceforth be classed as sisal grasses, and the American import duty will' thus be 15 dollars per ton of 20001 b, instead of 20 dollars as heretofore.
