Rain is falling in Sydney, and it is expected that if it continues much longer further floods will be the result. Rear-Admiral 'Fairfax has been appointed Second Naval Lord of the Admiralty and leaves for England in about a month. The appointment of his successor as Admiral in charge of the Australian Squadron is not yet notified.
