Land Board

The ordinary monthly meeting of the Land Board was held on Thursday There bomg present — Messrs J. W. A. Marchant, Commissioner, iv the chair, W. A. Fiizherbert, H Bunny. The monthly schedule showed that during the last month 4649 acres had been applied for lease and purchase at an upbet price of £3992 7s 6d, tho amount paid being £99 16s 4d. The schedule was approved. A schedule of transfers and extension to 14 years as approved by the Commissioner, was confirmed. The following transfers were granted : — Strawbridge to S. Straw bridge ; section 46, block 13, Pohangina, J. McAleer to C. A. W. Hunt ; section 8, block 12, Apiti, Mr Wysaki to W. Oldham. The following applications to obtain titles were approved : — J. Hazell, section 33, block 9, Pohangina ; D. Dunbar, section 59, block 13, Pohangina; A. Dunbar, sections 37, block 9. Pohangina; C. Hunt, section 44, block 13, Pohangina; J. Lanonskowski and G. Wilhelm, section 313, block 3, Oroua (separate titles). The Under-Secre-tary of the Crown Lands Department wrote to the effect that, unless the Board wished all the remaining secttions sold, it was not worth while holding an auction sale for the offering of four sections in the Makuri Block. The Secretary should be notified that the lands are open for selection in the usual way. The amended proposals of the Eketahuna Eoad Board for the expendiiure of thirds on roads was approved. It was resolved (provided it can be given effect to) to comply with the request of Mr C. Whitcorube to have section 32, block 12, Mangfthao, weighted I with £l 178 per acre, value of lin provements, in addition to £6 costs of survey. The Eimutaka Eoad Board forwarded amended proposals for ex tending thirds on sections 24, 35, and 26, block 13, Apiti, which were approved. The proposals for expending of thirds by the Eangitikei County Council were approved, except where sections were not benefited. The Board then adjourned. — N Z. Times.
