LOCHNAGAR (B.) BY " The Painter" (b.) (Sire of Fame, Lady Artist, Wairuareko, Orlando, Oddfellow, Germaine, Denbigh, Chemist, Ahua, Artist, &c.) out of Mayfly (r.), by Diomcdes (imp.) — May Queeu (h.), by Towton (imp.)— Sweep (b.J, by Sir Hercules (b.) will travel the Manawatu District in the coming Season, commencing Ist September. Lochnariar, like his celebrated Sire, is a Dark Brown Horse with black points, stands about 1(> hands, any amount of bone and substance, and very good tempered. For several Seasons he per* formed successfully in the Nelson District, both on the flat and over hurdles, his lost performances being on last New Year's Day, when he won the Motueka Hurdles, carrying the top weight list 21b, and the Motueka Cup, also top weight, 9st 2lbs. He stood one Season at the Stud, viz : iv 1887, the result being a very promising lot of youngsters. As will be seen by his tabulated pedigree, Lochnagar shows a powerful combination of stout winning strains, notably The Marquis, Stockwell, The Baron, Irish Birdcatcher, Cinizelli, Touchstone, Pocahontas, Melbourne, Glencoe, Bay Middleton, Fisherman, Emelius, Flying Dutchman, The Colonel, Whalebone, Waxy, Pot Bos., Eclipse. &c. The Proprietors confidently expect to see this grandly bred son of The Painter as worthily represent his Sire at the Stud, as their other great horse Somnus has done to perpetuate the name of the mighty Traducer. Full particulars as to Pedigree, Performances, Terms, &c. , will shortly be printed, and may be obtnined on application to BAKER & CO., Stud Masters, Feilding, Or to FRED SIMSON, Groom in Charge. N.B. — Somnus will probably stand in the Hawkes Bay District. V 4 ANGANUI SASH & DOOR V'» COMPANY. P. & J.
