Among the visitors were : — Bro. J. MacIntyre, W. M. ; Bro. W. Reid, J.D. ; Bro. Kerslake, Bro. Nathan, P.M.; Bro. B. N. Keeling, P.M. ; Bro. M. Cohen, J.W. ; of the Manawatu Lodge, 1721, E.G. Bro. Telegrams and letters of congratulation and of apology for non-attendance were received from a numbea of lodges and abseuc brethren. At the conclusion of the ceremonial part of the programme the brethren adjourned to the supper room, where a most admirable banquet was laid out. This was done full justice to, and after the remains of the comestibles were removed the usual loyal and Masonic toasts were given and drank with cordial and Masonic feeling. The 1.P.M., Bro. Pleasants, proposed the health of the newly appointed Master, and in a neat speech congratulated him on the position he had attained in the craft, and expressed his confidence that Bro. Bailey would prove a most admirable ruler of the odge. After a song by one of the visitors the W.M. made a suitable reply. He quite recognised all the responsibilities of the position, but as he believed his officers and the members of the lodge were confident he could successfully undertake them, he felt he could succeed. There were a number of speeches made and good songs well sung, and after a most enjoyable evening the. party broke up shortly after midnight.
