Grand National Hurdles, sweepstake of 20 BOVB, with 1000 soys added about three miles. — Eedleap, 9st Blb, 1 ; Oorythus, list 21b, 2; The Ehymer, lOst 71b, 3. Seventeen horses started. Time, smin 54sec. Wellington, July 15. The races postponed from Saturday were commenced to-day. The weather is threatening and cold. The attendance, as yet, is about 500. Trial Steeplechase. — Defamer, list (Ellingham), 1 ; Doctor, 9st slb, 2. The others were nowhere. Hurdles, — Louis, lOst 4lb (O'Connor), 1 ; Panic, 9st, 2 ; Clarice, 3. A good race, won by a length. Dividend, £5 4s. Flying Handicap.— Eepose, 1 ; Bewarewa, 2; Tennyson, 3. Dividend, £5 15a. Ladies' Bracelet.— Kahu, 1; Obed 2; Nutmeg, 3. Dividend, £l 10s. Steeplechase — Bossiter, 1 ; Panic, 2 ; Kangaroo, 3. Dividend, £28 13s. Winter Oats.— Eewa Eewa, 1. CHBIBTCHUBCH. July 14 Final payraentß for the Grand National Steeplechase were made on Saturday night: — Chemist, 12st 71b; Irish King, 12st; Orient, list 81b ; Torrent and Ahua, list slb ; Orangeman and Secretary, lOst slb ; Presto, Monteagle, Daddy Longlegs, and Panic (including penalty), 9st 12lb ; Guu powder. 9st lOlbj Louis and Waitangi, 9st 51b. In Melbourne Carbine is installed a nominal favourite, and 1000 to 40 has been backed a bout him. Manton, Maxim and Mentor have each been backed at 100 to 3. Taking an exhaustive retrospect of last season's principal winners, Mazeppa' gives their winners as follows : — Manton, L 3317; Cuirassier, LII9J; Leopold, L 894; Dudu, L 1160; Foxton, L 36 9; Chudleigb, L 548. The Feilding Drag hounds will meet at Sandon on Thursday instead of Wednesday as previously arranged. Cobbe & Darragh, of the Cash Exchange, are sole agents in Feilding District for Messrs Henderson Bros, celebrated " Silver Gem " Bojler Flour.
