Wellington Land Board
A special meeting of the Lam Board was held on Thursday last there being present Messs J. W. A Marchant (Commissioner, chairman) W. W~.McArdle, W. A. Fitzherbert D. H. Macaithur, nndH. Bunny. Th. Commissioner stated that, since th< last meeting of the Board, 1570 acrei had been disposed of at an upset prici of L 2309 10s. The transfer of sectioi 3, Block VII., Mangaone, from th< Public Trustee to H, T. Cooper, wai approved. The selector of section 28 Block, XL, Apiti, explained why h< had not resided on his land. Th< —iwitea Road Board forwarded plani and proposals for expending third: from sections in the Awatou, Pohau gin a Block, selectors not interested it Xhe proposals to consent tp the same being offered. The question of offering some of the Crown lands in the Puketoi Block at auction for cash waf again considered. It was moved bj Mr Bunny, and seconded by Mr Fitzherbert, That the balance of the sections not yet dealt with be offered at auction for cash. Mr McArdle moved as an amendment, That the Board does not approve the small sections being offered, as they are noi suitable ; but that sections .32, 33, 34, and 36 only be offered for cash, and this was seconded by Mr Macarthur, and carried. This being all the business the Board adjourned.
