The Fire Brigade Fete
We hope to see a big crowd at the Fire Brigade fete to be held on the Oval to-morrow afternoon, especially as the principal business places in town will be closed to enable all hands to turn out. The fun will commence at 2 o'clock, when the procession, grand and comic, will leave Mr Henry's, in Fergusson street, and march through the town headed by the Feilding Brass Band. On arrival j at the Oval the order of the gan>es , will be arranged, and a spirited foot- , ball match will be contested, the i whole of the players being in Fancy 1 Costume. After the fire engine has ] been christened with all due form and \ ceremony, there will be an exhibition ! of skill by the firemen which ought to f prove interesting. We are glad to notice that a small charge will be made at the gates in order to cover the inevitable expenses, and we feel confident that the financial results will leare a margin to be devoted to the ( augmentation of the funds of the Brigade, which are at a somewhat low ; ebb consequent upon the large outlay j they have been at in providing the engine and the necessary appurten- 1 ances. Everyone who hm the slighteat interest in the progress and welfare , of Feilding should put iu an appear- f anc6 to-morrow on the Oval, to assist in a most worthy and beneficial un- r dovtaking. ' i
