Hawke's Bay Shooting Case.
I PER UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION. [ ft'APIEB, July 5. v^ The inquest of the body of Turanga Karauria, who was shot at Omaha on ■' t June 14th, was concluded this afternoon. No additional facts have been brought to> light. After the coroner summed up,; pointing out the difference between mnr»der and manslaughter, the jury retired, and in half an hour brought in a verdict equivalent to manslaughter against the prisoner, Waatara Wi. The coroner senfc ; them back to reconsider their verdict, - telling them it was dead against the evidence, and he read definitions of what constituted murdfr an'l what manslaughter. The jury came back after a time saying they could .find no other verdict than manslaughter. The Coroner repeated that such a verSfoircQiild not b»justified on the evidence, but n-e-.. would accept it, and order the depositions 1 -*^ b© sent to the Resident Magistrate for fuW ther investigations. The prisoner •wia'iv ~ be charged before the Magistrate with *i wilful murder. . ... / .
