An attack on Wady Haifa was made to-day by the Dervishes, who were repulsed with great loss, 500 being killed and macy wounded. 70 of the Egyptians who defended tt>e position and 2 Biitish officers were wounded. London, July 3 Additional letter receiyed by Sir F. de Winton from Mr H. M. Stanley report him to be in a deplorable condition. He is shoeless and the clothing of himself and foEowere torn to rags. His hair has turned snow white. The privationß of his party have been something terrible, and a large number of his men have died from starvation. Patients have been sent from Wales to M. Pasteur for treatment. Berlin. July 3. Emperor William will pay a visit to King Humbert of Italy at Monza a town of Lombardy, northern Italy, in October next. He spends a week in Italy and then proceeds to Athens on a visit to King George 1. The Emperor William will be present at the marriage of Prince Constantino, Duke of Sparta, heir to the throne of Greece to Princess Sophia, third daughter of the late Emperor of Germany.
