(Sire of Fame, Lady Artist, Wairuareka, Orlando, Oddfellow, Germaine, Denbigh, Chemist 1 , Ahua, Artist, &c.) out of Mayfly (b.), by Diomedes (imp.) — May Queen (b.), by Towton (imp.)— Sweep (bj, by Sir Hercules (b.) -will travel the Manavratu District in the coming Season, commencing Ist September. Lochnagar, like his celebrated Sire, is a Dark Brown Horse with black points, stands about 16 hands, any amount of bone and substance, and very good tempered. For several Seasons he per* formed successfully in the Nelson District, both on (he flat and over hurdles, his Isst performances being on List New Year's Day. when he won the Motueka Hurdles, carrying the top weight list 21b, and the Motueka Cup, also top weight, 9st 2lbs. He stood one Season at the Stud, viz : in 1887, the result being a very promising lot of youngsters. As will be seen by his tabulated pedi* gree, Lochnagar shows a powerful combination of stout winning strains, notably The Marquis, Stoekwell, The Baron, Irish Birdcatcher, Cinizelli, Touchstone, Pocahontas, Melbourne, Glencoe, Buy Middleton, Fisherman, Emelius, Flying Dufcliman, The Colonel, Whalebone, Waxy, Pot Bos., Eclipse. <fee.
