Feilding Hunt Club
♦ A. general meeting of the above Vat lield at Light's Hotel on Thursday evening for the purpose of considering the advisability of holding a steeplechast meeting. Mr Lethbridge was voted to the chair. Mr E. Goodbehere wrote apoligieing foi his absence, and stating he had written the Colonial Secretary and Mr Macarfchur re the totalisator, and that the permit asked for would be granted. Correspondence to and from Colonial Secretary and Mr Macarthur on the subject were also read, - Proposed by Mr Lovejoy, seconded by Mr Lance, That a steeplechase meeting be held at Feilding in connection with the the Feilding Hunt Club. — Carried. Proposed by Mr Elkington, seconded by Mr Boake, That the steeplechase meeting be held on Monday, August 12th. — Carried. Resolved that the programme committee consist of seven members. The balloting for the programme committee resulted in the following being elected: — Messrs Lance, Lovejoy, McMillan, E. Goodbehere, Riddiford, D. TThurston, Carr, and the Secretary, Mr Mr Boake, ex-oflicio. | The following officers were appointed : j — Jjr J. E. Henry, handicapper; Mr Le&bridge, . judge ; Mr J). Thnrston, starter ; Mr E. Goodbehere, secretary and ! treasurer for the meeting ; Mr N. Gorton, iclerk of the course; Mr Carr, clerk of , scales; stewards, the committee with the i addition of Messrs Charlton, Elkington, and Light. Y%e have since received the programme which will be published on Tuesday. .'There rare seven events, viz.: Handicap : Hack Hurdles, Feilding Hunt Club Cup Handicap Steeplechase, Handicap Flat Hack Race, Maiden Hack Steeplechase, Handicap Welter Hack Steeplechase, Xadifes Bracelet, and Handicap Flying HacM Flat -Race— about £130 in all. Alleadj liberal entries have been promised, <3md ape meeting promises to be a success.
