CHRISTCHURCH STOCK MARKET.
Messrs Dick en and Co, report: — Fat Cattle.—There was a large number yarded ; much more than an average entry, and the demand was ouly middling. In consequence tha sale was a slow one, only the very best lots meeting with anything like competition, medium and inferior quality being cheaper. The finest quality bullocks sold at from £6 7/6 to £7 10/- About 20 head steers and heifere ranged from £3 17/6 to £5 5/per head. The value of beef for the day ranged from 16/- to about 17/6 per 1001 b. Stobe Cattle. —There was but a small entry, and a very limited demand, the principle sale being a line of rising three-year»old steers at £3 5/- per head ; all else were mostly odd sorts. Dairy Cattle, —A moderate entry and a middling demand. Q-ood sorts of cows sold up to £7 ; inferior and medium, £2 upwards. Veal Calves. —A moderate entry. Prime sorts, 16/- to 25/- ; medium, 8/- to 12/6.
