By Electric Telegraph. — Copyright [PER UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.! Stdnet, June 25. Another desperate affray took place this morning between the police and burglars. It appears that at an early hour in ths morning Constable Slater surpnoed a burglar attempting to force an entrance icto the residence of Mr Justice Stephens. Tha constable closed with the mac, and a desperate struggle ensued. Two accomplices of the burglar came to the rescue of their mate, and fired twice at Constable Slater, both shots taking effect in his shoulder. This caused the constable to relax hold of his man, who with the accomplices, made off, and are not yet captured. The constable is in a serious condition. June 26. One of the burglars who shot Constable Slater yesterday morning has been arrested. Adelaide. June 26. The liquidators of the Commercial Bank hare issued writs against the Directors claiming £320,000 damages for alleged negligence m declaring dividends out of capital. Beisbane, June 26 The missing boat containing a portion of the crew of the barque Brazos, wreoked on a coral reef north of Sandy Cape, has arrived at Bowen. Newcastle, June 26.
