Chbtstchubch, June 19° The Christchnrch North election resulted as follows : — E. W. Humphreys, 403; John Olhvier, 378; Eden George, 184. Informal, 7 ; destroyed 1. Dunbdin, June 19. Great interest was taken to-day in the sale of the D'Artagnan's cargo of sugar, and the bidding was brisk to almost excitement. The whole of the cargo was sold, in bond, at £36 to £36 5s for finest grey crystals, and £36 15s for fine to finest whitei. A fortnight ago rugar was sold here at from &2 to £24 10a. Wellington, i une 19. The balance-sheet of the Wellington Woolen Factory shows the result for the year to be satisfactory. The sum of £2000 is written off as depreciation, and the payment of an 8 per cent, dividend absords £2390 : £2000 is carried to the reserve fund, and £3696 to the credit of next year's account. The Agnews were charged to-day with vagrancy, and sentenced to one month's impneoument. The proceedings were of a lively character.
