. The Manchester Rifles paraded on Friday last, Capt. Pleasants in command and were" inspected by Lieut Col. Stapp who expressed satisf action at seeing suoh a good muster. In the course of his remarkß he said with reference to the members of the corps who attended the J Nelson- Encampment, under the command of Lieut. Kirton, "they had been highly: spoken of by Capt. Skerman, who acted as Major at the encampment, in a letter to him .((001. Stapp.) He complimented them on their steadiness and good conduct, and hoped that on all future similar occasions they " would continue to show they were not only good soldiers but good citizens.
