Football
A meeting of the Kugby Union was held at Palmerston on Friday night. Delegates present — Messrs Saywell and Henry for Feilding ; Halse and Nicholson for Woodville ; Randall, F. and J. Jackson for Palmerston. The following officers were elected : — Mr D. H. Macarthur, M.H.E., president; Messrs F. Y. Lethbridge, R. B. Smith, and J, J. Murphy, vice-presidents ; managing committee, Messrs Halse, Nicholson, Eavenhill, Saywell and Henry ; hon. sec. and treasurer, F. W. Jackson ; match committee, Messrs Saywell, Eandall, and Nicholson.
The following dates were fixed on which the cup matches will be played :—Woodville v. Feilding, at Feilding, June 1 ; Palmerston v. Woodville, at Woodville, June 15; Feilding v. Palmerston, at Palmerston, June 29 ; Woodville v. Palmerston, at Palmerston, July 13 ; Feilding v. Woodville, at Woodville, July 27 ; Palmerston v. Feilding, at Feilding, August 10.
Points for the Cup to count as follows : — A win, 2 ; a draw, 1 for each tmrn ; the team having the most points to be the winner of the Cup, presented by Mr H. W. Haybittle to the Union.
