George Thomas and Co. report as follows : — Flour, perhaps an inclination to recede slightly in value, is still quoted at LlO 5/- to LlO 10/- for stone, and Lll 10/- to Lll 16/- for roller process. Fowls' wheat, best whole, 3/1 1 to 4/- ; broken, 3/6 ; for milling samples there is no local demand. Oats are firm at 2/9 to 3/- for the various classes; black do, 2/10. Oatmeal, firm at Ll4 10/- to LI4 15/-; chaff L 3 to L 4 15/- ; baled straw, L 4 ; feed barley, 3/- ; pearl barley, L2O ; feed peas, 3/9 ; split peas, Lls; beans, 3/11 ; potatoes, L 4 to L 4 10/- ; onions Kill to Ll2 ; hams and bacon, 8d to «£d; cheese, 4£d to s£d ; honey, 3&d to 4£d ; fresh butter, 9d ; salt do, 8d to B£d ; eggs scarce, 1/9 to 2/- per dozen ; fowls, 2/6 ; ducks, 3/- ; turkeys, 6/6 ; gt> ese, 5/6 A -er \mir The fruit market is fully st- eked with apples, pears, and Island oranges, but trade is a trifle restricted.
