Riot in Mexico

A Mexican mob made aa attempt to ralease five Jesuit preists who had baen committed to gaol at Guanaxuato, capital of the State of the same name, for preaching seditious serrnonß. Ths troops were called out to protect the governor of the gaol and were compelled to fire on the mob. Two hundred of the latter were killed.
