A stormy meeting of shareholders in the Comptoir D'Escompte has been held at which 2000 members were present. Resolutions were carried dismissing the directors, and agreeing to go into liquidation with the object of forming anew company. Extreme confusion prevailed at the meeting, and the directors were mobbed.

The Queen of Wurtemburg had a narrow escape of a dreadful accident while out driving at Monaco, where she is bojourmng for the benefit of her health. The horses attached to the Queen's carriage were startled by a passing tram, and passing over a precipice, were killed. Fortunately the carriage-pole broke, or carriage and its occupauts must also have been precipitated oyer the clifE. The Queen was unhurt. One of the footmen was slightly injured.

The delegates from America, Euglanl and Germany to the Conference to be held in this city on the Samoan question met to-day, but strictest secreßy was maintained as to the business transacted, which probably was merely of a formal nature.

At the opening of the Conference on the Samoan question to-day Count Herbert Bismarck the President of the Conference, said it was the earnest desire of the Emperor William of Germany that an amicable settlement of the difficulty should be achieved. Germany, said Count Herbert, had no selfish or sscret scheme of annexation or aggrandizement in the Pac lfic. Tne Emperor is evincing the liveliest in c est iv the proceedings. Russia has reinforced her troops on the Bokhara-Afghan frontier. Pontilye Conbiline, chief of the Russian secret police, and a number of his subordinates, have been dismissed, on the ground of discoveries leading to the supposition that they had been tampered with hy conspirators.
