Yesterday morning just before sunrise a splendid hare went careering down the Kimbolton road. It is safer in town than in the open. A mile race will take place on Thursday evening at the skating rink between Messrß Gosling (junr.) and Roake. As both men have won victories in other fields it is expected the contest will be a keen one. From New Plymouth we have received the news of the death of Mrs Stapp the wife of Lieut Col. Stapp, who had been suffering from severe illness for some 1 time past. We beg to tender Col. Stapp our sincere sympathy in his bereavement. Those wishing to send parcels or presents to Europe are reminded that he has a clieap prompt delivery by each of the direct steamers for London. Parcels so sent are delirered at the door of consignee, if instructed. It is also noti« fied that he has special conveyance for the removal of furniture and luggage.
