Mr William Meade. manager of the local cheee factory, and a friend of his from Auckland, were among the number. By some means, not quitn clear, the letter's gun went off, and the shot lodged in Meade't groin. The unfortunate man died a few hours after. He was 25 years of age, and leaves a wife and one child.
