Hair Taming White
The following paragraph i« cut from a Scotch newspaper, and I send it for the benefit of readers of the Ladies Corner. Perhaps those who try it will mafte knewn the result:— l had mv hair go red all round my head; with the use of soap my face eot spots upon it. I took to washing in warm water adding every time about six drops of pure carbolic •'•. acid ; in a short time my hair went a* • black as a coal, and curly; I never us* lo hair oil or fat ; oil and fat atoo hair from being silky and curly. Find inn this happen, an old gentleman with white* hair, always wishing for black, used the carbolic acid. He now has jet black hairThere are two sorts of carbolic acid pure and impure ; the pure is white, the impure just the colour of bad treacle* or black re 1, also a crystal., all made from coal tar. Beware, and not use too mucSh •-■- --of it ; it will make the skin smart and ; come off. A piece of cotton wool just wetted with it and put to a tooth wilt •top toothache in one minute/
