One of the Mahdi's Emirs has reached Surras at the head of a thousand men, and the authorities in this city are in a state of great alarm. April 18. It is reported in this city that El Senouissi defeated the Mahdi, with great loss, at a place seven days' journey from Omdurman. The Mahdi's General were captured, and after his defeat he retreated to Khartoum.
