Wellington, April 17. There was a very short entry of beef at the yards to-day, and sold relatively higher than last week. Vealers were in < good demand at improved rates. The sheep pens were well filled, the entry ; being chiefly ewes, ranging from medium ' to good. Double the number of lambs advertised came formed. Pigs were well , represented, a large proportion being baconer., at easier rates than last quota- , tions. Cattle. -Bullocks, £4 17/6 to £5 2/6, averaging, £5 ; vealers, 14/- to 18/- . Sheep. — Prime wethers, 12/1 ; others, 9/6 ; ewes, 7/1 to 9/10 ; shorn lambs, 6/to 6/9. Pigs. — Large baconers, £1 15/- ; to ; £2 3/6; others, 30/- to 24/6; porkers, 14/6 to 19/- ; stores, 6/- to 13/- ; smaller sorts, 3/3 to 5/9. Ox beef, 13/6 the lOOlbs ; ewe mutton, 11/2 per lb ; wether mutton, If d to 2d.
