The Fisk Jubilee Singers
On Wednesday the 17th instant the residents here will have a genuine treat in the performance of the Fisk Jubilee Singers, who will appear in new Assembly Rooms on that date. A liberal programme is published to-day which promises new glees, new quartettes and new solos. The plau of reserved seats may be seen at Mr Carthew's. It will be noticed that family tickets for six persons may be obtained for 20s. The fame of the Fisk Jubilee Singers is already so great that we have a difficulty in finding words to give expression to the feelings of satisfaction we experienced in the knowledge that we have such a musical treat bef.re us. Wherever they have appeared, and thoy have travelled over every part of the civilised world, a splendid reception has invariably awaited them, and we feel confident that Feilding will prove no exception to the rule. We may state that strong efforts were made to induce them to g.ve two nights instead of one, but their other engagements made it impossible.
